Geralyn F. Schmitt, graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut with a Bachelors in Business Administration in 1986.  She obtained her Juris Docturate from the University of Bridgeport School of Law in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1991.

Her practice concentration is in the areas of Real Estate, Bankruptcy and Estate Planning and Probate.  She was admitted to the Connecticut Bar and the United States District Court in 1992.  She is a member of the New Haven County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the Connecticut Bar Association.
